Kansas City, Mo. – Southwest Baptist jumped out tot a 2-0 lead in the first half and held on to advance to the semi-finals of the MIAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.
Ashley Creason scored in the 14th minute for the Bearcats taking a pass from Karla Jamison and burying it from 20 yards out. Karla Jamison would score the second goal for SBU taking a pass from Carline Karlsson in the 22nd minute.
Lindenwood would cut the lead to one in the 32nd minute as Danielle Torry connected on a header on a free kick from Davah Bruce. Paige Hemphill stopped three shots to pick up the win in goal.
Southwest Baptist will face the winner of the Northeastern State/Emporia State game at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 from College Boulevard Activities Complex in Olathe, Kan.
