Kansas City, Mo. – Top seeded Central Missouri used a strong hitting night to advance in the MIAA Volleyball Tournament with a 3-0 win over eighth seeded Pittsburg State. UCM hit .303 while holding PSU to .083 hitting as the picked up the 25-17, 28-26 and 25-10 victory.

For the Jennies Taylor Goodness had 17 kills hitting .308 for the game. Haley Thompson had 11 kills and hit .524. Julia Bates had a double-double with 10 kills hitting .588 and 36 assists finishing just shy of the triple-double with eight digs. Annie Reilly had a team best 25 digs while Becca Blaise had a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs.

For the Gorillas Abbie Smith had a team best six kills on the evening. Hayley Hansford had 20 assists and Kirsten Erikson had 10 digs.

Central Missouri will face Central Oklahoma at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 from Warrensburg, Mo.
