Kansas City, Mo. – Second seeded Washburn swept to an opening round 3-0 victory over Northwest Missouri in the MIAA Volleyball Tournament. The Ichabods hit .278 on the night as they pulled out the 25-18, 25-15 and 25-17 victory.

For the Ichabods Marissa Cox hit .600 with 13 kills on the night and added three total blocks. Corrine Stringer had eight nine kills Hannah Friedrich led the way with four total blocks. Kelsey Lewis had a team leading 12 digs on the return and Abby Wittman had 36 assists.

For the Bearcats Brooke Bartosh had 10 kills and two digs as well as two total blocks. Jackie Becker led the team at the net with four total blocks. Kirsten Hudgens had 15 assists and Bridget Hanafin added 13 assists on the night and Bailey Vance had 16 digs.

Washburn advances to face Nebraska-Kearney on Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. from Warrensburg, Mo.
