1984 NCAA National Champions

The then-Indians were led by Mike Vanatta, who claimed four individual national championships. Southeast Missouri was coached by Fred Binggeli. Scott Laneman, Norm Kellar, Joe Lackner, Art Waddle, Mike Byrne and Joe Leuchtmann were also members of that team. The 1984 cross country team was part of Southeast's inaugural Hall of Fame Class in 2002.
