UCM, ESU Finish in Director's Cup Top 25

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Missouri captured its second consecutive third-place national finish in NCAA Division II in the 2009-10 Learfield Sports/NACDA Director's Cup, released at the NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) Convention in Anaheim, Calif. The finish duplicates last year's top mark in MIAA history, which is also shared by Truman (2003-2004).

The Director's Cup awards athletic departments for their overall performance. Grand Valley State once again captured the crown with California (Pa.) finishing in second. The highest MIAA finish behind UCM was Emporia State in 25th.

Five MIAA schools finished in the top 50 out of 291 active NCAA Division II member institutions. Eight MIAA schools (72.7%) were ranked in the top 100 nationally, the second-highest percentage of membership of the 22 NCAA Division II conferences. The MIAA trails only the PSAC in both percentage of schools in the top 100 and in total schools in the top 100 nationally.
